We had a few nice days, and got spoiled! Then 2 days ago the temperature dropped as the day went on, and winter is back.
The temp afghan is coming along nicely. I like the width and the colors. Same colors as the one I did for 2015/16 school year, my last year of being employed.
I've got a granny afghan going, made of Hobby Lobby sugar wheels in Saturday Sundae colorway.
I've also got a counted cross stitch project going, for Steph. It's a firehouse.
And I've been reading my way thru Jill Shalvis. I finished her Lucky Harbor series, and just started the Heartbreaker Bay series.
Today we went to Hobby Lobby- all yarn on sale 30% off! Then to Bertucci's for lunch, and Pet Smart for Tina food.
She loves the chair I brought home from Mom's, and cuddles up to Mom's teddy bear. She's so funny.
I also started a temp scarf, but just frogged the whole thing as it was crooked. I have to get that going again. Tomorrow we're having lunch with Heather at an Italian restaurant near her.

First finish of 2018
Campfire Cardigan! A free pattern. I made Julianna one during the summer.
Her cardigan was made to her specifications! She picked the colors, and wanted the sleeves short, and didn't want a hood. The hood on mine was a pain- I followed directions, and ended up taking out several rows, as it was way too tall.
I am happy with how it came out, and it's nice and warm. Not warm enough to wear outside today- it's about 13 degrees right now!
I'm glad to have it done, I feel like I've been working on it for years! One person commented on facebook that it looks like s'mores! I take that as a huge compliment.
Steph has been here and gone. We didn't see enough of her! Yesterday she left for Heather's, and will spend time with them before leaving to go back home today. She'll be back in May, and hopefully Dan will be with her for part of that trip.

A heat wave!
After the first week of January not getting above 20, the low 40's is wonderful.
The temperature afghan was looking real boring for that first week! This year's is a ripple stitch, using the back loop, with a G hook. The hook is a Furl's that Manda gave me for my birthday 2 years ago. Very comfortable to use.
Steph is home for a few days after a meeting in north jersey, and I just mended a pair of slacks for her, and hemmed a pair of jeans for her.
Yesterday Ralph, Steph, Heather and I went to Brio's for lunch, then to LL Bean and Plow and Hearth to browse.
I'm still working on the Campfire Cardigan. The hood is done, I just have to finish the sleeves, then do a finish row around the whole thing. I'm resisting starting another project until I finish it, and I even leave it on the ottoman at night so I see it first thing.
Ralph and Mike are doing some cleaning up at Mom's. We're hoping to get it on the market really soon.

Another cold one!
3 degrees this morning! We should get a break this week, up to 50 by the middle of the week.
With Sly's dubious help, I've been working on the campfire cardigan. If I hadn't ripped it out so many times, I'd be long done. It really does pay to follow instructions.
My temp afghan is really boring so far, all the lightest purple, except for the white day- we had snow all day Thursday. It was incredibly nice to not have to worry about whether or not school would be open! As it turns out, most schools were closed Thursday and Friday, after just having gone back after the Christmas break.
This morning Ralph is doing a photo class/shoot. I didn't feel too great this morning, so I cancelled lunch with Frank and Charlotte, and went back to bed for a few hours.
I finished binge watching this season's Outlander. Now we have to wait til 2019 for both Game of Thrones and Outlander to return.
Yesterday I cleaned out the big freezer, and discarded a few things, and Ralph defrosted it. It was colder on the porch than in the freezer, so he put the contents in an ice chest on the porch.
And nothing else exciting going on.

Happy New Year!
2018 begins with cold! The low today was 7! I'm tracking temps because I'm doing another temperature afghan. This one will be low temps, ripple stitch in the back loop, with a G hook. I have the chain made, and part of the first row. I stopped so we could go out to the diner for a late lunch/early dinner. Cheesesteak for Ralph, turkey dinner for me, with enough left over for both of us to have another meal.
I also pulled floss for my first cross stitch project of the year! and I totaled up my yarn usage for 2017, only 4.1 pounds. I spend the majority of 2017 working on cross stitch projects, Lakeside Cabin and Winter Moon.
In 2017 I read 87 books, of which 37 were on the Kindle. That's a low number for me, but I basically lost October and part of November to doing estate things and cleaning out Mom's house.
It's nice and sunny today, even if it's bitter cold.
