Waffles Wednesday

Our local breakfast/lunch spot is now offering a sandwich of scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese on a waffle. So good! So I went digging in the pantry and came up with my waffle maker!

So big! We each had one. These two and the rest of the batter went into the fridge.

12% done! It's looking so good!

Rainy Thursday

It's a rainy day. Better than a snowy day!

Work in Progress! I'm 9% done!

We trekked to the grocery store yesterday, our first visit since Christmas! yikes! I was low on so many things, and had used my spares of so many things, that we couldn't put it off any longer. So now we're good to go.

Snowy weekend

 It snowed all day Friday.

This is from my front door. You can barely see that there is a street there, and that's after it was plowed twice and the walk was cleaned with the snowblower!

I made the sausage casserole, and we got two meal out of it. Ralph gave it thumbs up.

Winter's Welcome progress as of last night. I love how it's coming out, and I never knew how many shades of white and light gray there are!

7 %

I hit 7% last night! I think the total project is 126K stitches, about half the size of my previous project.

It's starting to look like something! My goal is 300 stitches per day, and I've done more than that almost every day.  Last night I hit 500 stitches and 7%, and called it a night.

We got maybe 3 inches of snow Monday, then some rain which of course froze everything up. Yesterday was sunny, so some melting occurred, but our street is still a mess. I haven't been out of the house since Sunday.

It's supposed to start snowing tomorrow morning, and snow all day, and give us another 3 inches or so. Steph and Dan were supposed to fly in tonight, and their flight was cancelled on Monday, which is just as well. We'll miss seeing them, but would rather have them safe in Oregon with Mocha.

Contractor did the demo on the old basement steps, then had to cancel for a few days. He delivered material yesterday, and hopes to be here today.

Weekend XS update

It's actually Monday morning, and the photo is from Saturday night.

I did  another 400+ stitches on Sunday. I'm watching Only Murders in the Building on Hulu while I stitch. It's Meh, with some really funny moments. I just need something on while I stitch.

Contractor Tucker should be here later this morning to start my new basement steps, yay! And we're looking at a forecast of snow tonight, breaking a streak of 760ish days with no snow. Personally, I'd be fine if the streak continued.

I made scrambled eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. No particular goals for today.

Work in Progress Wednesday, posted on Thursday

I got the WIP posted on Facebook on Wednesday, but didn't get around to posting it here.

My goal is 300 stitches per day, and I've been exceeding it most days.

The contractor should be here today to start my new cellar steps! yay!

I just finished the last quarter of my Sunday breakfast sandwich! It was huge.

We had a severe rainstorm the other night, and could have another tomorrow night. If it was snow, we'd be up to our armpits!

A rainy weekend

We've had a lot of rain this weekend! North and west of us got snow, which they can keep!

We went out in the now drizzle to Cinder Bar for Sunday brunch.

Ralph got apple stuffed french toast and breakfast potatoes.

I got the Cinder Bar breakfast sandwich, which could feed four people! Pork roll, frittata style eggs, fontina cheese. I brought home 3/4 of it!

Weekend update on Winter's Welcome! Using pattern keeper, it gives me a daily stitch count.

Yesterday I did 584 stitches, for a total of 3020 for the week, and 3740 since I started. I'm 2.96% done the project!

Dinner is in the crockpot! Apple butter chicken! Chicken with a sauce of apple butter, salsa, and ketchup and garlic. I'll make scalloped potatoes and something green with it.

January 2

We started out the day with a Sam's Club run. We go about every month or six weeks.

This is the start of the baby afghan. It's 3 yarns, ivory, baby blue, and blue variegated.

This is our square for the signature quilted wallhanging. I have 32 squares here, my friend is going to embroider the last 4, then I'll start putting it together.

Heather and her girls on New Years Eve. Honey Rose is showing her age, she's 11 or 12, I forget. Steph is Eddie's girlfriend, and Julianna is taller than everyone!

A New Year!

Welcome 2024! May you be good to us!

My new project progress!

I always do yearly statistics, because I'm boring. I used 532.75 ounces of yarn, which translates to 33.295 pounds! I made 12 full sized afghans, one baby sized afghan, and a little afghan for my tiny grand dog Mocha.

I read 179 books in 2023, 127 of them on the Kindle. I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, and a lot were from there.

And I was going thru a little container of pix that I found, and this was in it.

Manda's dorm at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. If it looks like a motel, that's because it's how the dorm started it's life. This was taken in 1999, and I have no idea if it's still standing.
