Still Brrr!

It's warming up somewhat, but we're supposed to get a storm and wind tonight. I'm so ready for spring!

Eddie did an 80 mile enduro race over the weekend, and came in #1 in his class, yay!

After two years of growing his hair for donation, Ralph had enough! Great Clips cut it for free! You can see one of the hoarders piles behind him.

I love how the new sewing room is shaping up! The carpet is ordered, and I'm so excited for it to come in! Hopefully next week, the week after at the latest.

Work in progress! It goes faster when I actually work on it!

Today is PT. I can already feel an improvement in my balance. Ralph is at breakfast with the Vets.

Brrrr!

Winter revisited! It's going down into the teens tonight! Yikes!

I've got this back up on the frame, and working on it.

The new guest room is being the catch all room, while the new sewing room is being worked on.

Woody Rosemary won the contest over Blue Mountaintop! The rug will be the same gray as the new guest room.

I love it! And with the white trim and doors, it's just so beautiful!

This week's project will be the outside door. Shane is going to add an inch to the bottom, so it fits correctly, and paint the door white.

The carpet is ordered for the new sewing room, yay!

I've been going to PT for my balance issues, and it's going well- I can already feel the difference! He has me do things like marching in place- the constant shifting of my weight forces the brain to recalibrate. And standing on a balance board, does the same thing. We're basically retraining my gyroscope.

So we're getting closer to being able to put the house back together, before the show Hoarders shows up!

Doors!

We have doors in the laundry room!

Four, counting the  door to the outside! Shane is going to paint the outside door white to match the others.

So many things got shoved into the soon to be sewing room, when the other room had to be emptied! After the new guest room was carpeted and
painted, a lot of this got put in there.

It's current state, sheet rocked and spackled.

And I'm back to working on the counted cross stitch!

Progress!

 It's been laundry room week!

I love the paint! The color is a little softer in person that it shows in the pic.

Yesterday was door day, but I forgot to take a pic.

A finished project! A kit I bought a while ago, and finally made.

I had my 3rd PT session yesterday for my balance issues, and I can already feel a difference!

A week of floors!

Last week was the kitchen floor,  yesterday was the guest room to be!

I'm very happy with it.

And our guy started the laundry room!

Before:

Bad pic, but I forgot to take one, and Ralph had to text me the one he took. Old paneling, old wallpaper.

In progress:

New sheetrock up, taped and mudded. He's going to be here in a while and do the ceiling. The floor is new, we had that done after Tina passed. She'd had litter pan issues, and wrecked the 30 year old tile that was there.

A library run!

A finish! Another kit I'd bought a while ago. Three different snowflake patterns, each done in 4 colors. I'm thinking maybe having them drape over the mantle for next winter.

One kit left! These are only 2 rounds and a border, so should go super fast- as long as I actually work on them!

Manda texted late last night that she and her family and Steph and Dan plan to visit this summer! Maybe the end part of July, for Amary's birthday. With the bed and pull out couch in the guest room, as well as the inflatable kid sized mattress, they should be able to use the new guest room without Ben having to sleep on the couch. Before, the kids insisted on being with Manda in the queen bed, so he would use the couch. Which is not a hardship, I sleep on it all the time. They usually divide their time between here and Heather's. Steph always has hotel points, and she and Dan like their privacy, so they stay at a hotel. The kids just want to be with Eddie and Julianna, and the pool, and Honey Rose. And I can get a new family picture, yay! It's been 3 years since we took the last one, pre pandemic. We haven't seen Manda and her group in 2 1/2 years!

LOL, I finally watched the last Hallmark Christmas movie that I had on the DVR!

Happy March!

 I had a finish! A kit that I bought I don't know when. It's baby/toddler sized.

We went to Julianna's play at her high school!

It was a musical named Memphis, set in the early 1950's when there was white music and black music, and radio stations for each. A DJ named Huey started introducing black music to white people, and it didn't always go well. Julianna played a dancer.

A library run!

When we had our kitchen redone 3 years ago, there was going to be one piece linoleum, til the contractor ripped it putting it down. I don't know why we didn't insist they remove it. A replacement was ordered, and the wrong thing was sent, so I wanted something in stock.

This did not hold up at all, it was coming up. This was the time when Joseph died, and I was not up to dealing with Lowe's. By the time I was, they insisted it was not under warranty, was cheap flooring, blah, blah, blah. I fought for 2 years, and did get some money refunded, but the manager refused to authorize removing the defective flooring and putting something else down.

In December, I'd had enough, and we went to a flooring place recommended by my brother. For $500 more than I'd gotten refunded, they would remove both layers and put down the new flooring that I picked out.

Yesterday was the demo. 13 man hours later, the old flooring was gone.

The dark patches are leveler. They were able to keep the plywood under flooring.

Today was the install! 12 man hours later, we have a beautiful new floor!

We're very happy with it, and relieved to have it done!
