Hot July!

So many days that it's been over 90! Last Saturday we were lucky, I was in the low 80's and nice out for Eddie and Julianna's graduation party.

It was so nice to hang out in Heather's back yard!

Ralph and Mike got to chat.

Sunday I finished up Apache Tears, yay! It's mostly single crochet, so it's really heavy. Looks great on the back of the couch, waiting for someone to nap!

Monday I got the snakes up to date. Lots of shades of red, with the high temps we've been having. They are a little over halfway finished.

Last night I went back to my counted cross stitch project,
which I haven't worked on since March! It's the top right side, which means I have it on the q snap, because on the frame it's too much of a reach for me, being left handed.

I just read all 16 (so far) books in Marie Force's Fatal series. Very well written and flow very well.

Hot summer!

It seems like it's been in the 90's forever!

We were surprised to have an afternoon visitor! She laid down in the shade for quite a while. Ralph was concerned about her- then the amazon truck came and she ambled off.

This picture came up in my Facebook memories. I thought it'd make a great quilt top inspiration.

My Wednesday work in progress update! One or two more color sets and Apache Tears will be complete! Since it's mostly single crochet, it's really heavy! A good winter snuggle under quilt!

When the afghan is done, I think I'll go back to my cross stitch project for a while.

This is the last pic I took of it, on March 17! So I've had a good long break from it.

Family stuff- Ben's dad Randy is in WA visiting them. He and Polly were a half hour away, and he tried out an electric bike. He hit the brake, and went over the handlebars and landed on his head! He had a helmet on, which he cracked. A women saw the accident and called 911. He has a C2 fracture, which is a BFD! (a big fat deal) or it can be a big f*cking deal. He was transferred to a bigger hospital, one a bed (translation- a nurse) became available, and will have surgery later today. I told Manda that if it weren't fall the woman calling 911 he could be a quad or dead! He could be looking at a halo cast, and extensive rehab, depending on how it goes. You never know what will happen!

Quiet week

It's been a hot and quiet week. Some days I never left the air conditioned house!

I was almost a month behind on the snakes! Now they are up to date, and halfway completed! Since one is VA temps, and the other is south jersey temps, they are almost the same.

Sandwich of the day from Phila Provision Company! Turkey and ham and
Swiss, lettuce and tomato on a croissant. 1/4 of it was a meal for me! So I had a half over two days, and Ralph had the other half. Not bad for $8!

Between reading and crocheting while the TV is on, time goes by pretty fast! And now it's the weekend again!

July!

 Hello, July!

July has birthdays! Dan, John, Steph, Matthew B, Amary and Polly, Kenzie, Connor, Juliette! And Steph and Dan's anniversary!

We ended June with Denise's funeral. Mike and I went. We left here at 8.30 and got back here at 4, so a long day, and it was 97 out. The church was in Port Richmond section of Philly, the cemetery in Bensalem, and back to Bustleton Ave for the luncheon.  We got to talk to Henry for a long while at the luncheon, and also to our cousin Linda. It's staggering how awful the circumstances of her death were. I'm so sad for Henry and his girls and their families.

Yesterday we made a library run. It's so nice to have the library back to full hours! From there we went to Hobby Lobby. Not my favorite place, but I needed some specific yarn colors from there.

Apache Tears! One of my smart ass friends said that soon I'll need a taller husband! Since it's mostly single crochet, it's amazingly heavy.

We have no July 4th plans, except to go to lunch at Bertucci's with Frank and Charlotte.

USA- the land of the free because of the brave!
