I'm still in shock and disbelief. After I checked several times to make sure the felon really won, I went into the sewing room. My nephew and his wife are having a baby girl in March. I had some burp diapers (cloth diaper backed with flannel) cut out and pinned, so I sewed ten of them.
That was Wednesday. Thursday I got out the two packs of diapers I had bought a while ago, and started cutting backing flannel.
I got another ten ready to go. Friday we had to go to Sam's club to pick up my new glasses, and went to Aldi.
Saturday morning I got the final ten cut, and pinned all twenty, plus an oversized receiving blanket. Then we had to leave to have a late lunch with our cookie swap group- no cookies.
I don't know how much I'll get done today, as it's our usual Sunday lunch with Frank and Charlotte. Tomorrow is Veterans Day, so we'll stop at Texas Roadhouse to get his dinner coupon, then he'll go to the town's ceremony and I'll be here because our monthly housecleaner is coming. So I'll hole up in the sewing room while she cleans.

Yes, that crazy felon really won! Somehow millions and millions of people we thought were sensible voted for him! I didn't cry but I was in despair. I had picked up two quilts from my quilter on Monday and got both bindings sewn and put on them by Saturday. That has never been done before. So, despair can be useful I guess. Since this country was founded on prayer, I am going to be doing lots of this for the upcoming term to help keep this country going. I cannot count on this felon to do it. I am also not going to do much reading about what is happening in Washington either. That would be too upsetting. We cannot count on the felon to hold a steady course since he didn't before. Now he is older and far less capable. Only four years, right?
