Summer is back

We were under a heat advisory yesterday. Thunder storms projected, but never materialized. We had our usual lunch with the teachers, a retired couple that I used to work with the husband. We always have fun meeting up with them.

And it snowed in Glacier Park, as per Facebook. Yikes!

My sunflowers are looking good! We don't pick them, we leave them for the birds and the squirrels.

I just finished this from the library, so good! I've been reading the Cork O'Connor series for years, and I really liked this one.

Update on my afghan in progress, baby sized. I plan to do ten rows of white, then start the sequence again.

I saw a fountain on Facebook that I loved, so we ordered it from Lowe's. It came today, and Ralph is out setting it up now.

Weekend is here

Every day is the weekend when you are retired! We usually stay home on weekends, because all the working people are out and about.

A new start! I hate, hate, hate Lion Brand one pounders. Trying to find the end to pull from the middle is impossible, you have to dissect the skein to find it. On a couple of colors, I'm just pulling from the outside, which is annoying and inefficient. Luckily, these are all the Lion Brand that I have.

Some neighbors stopped by for lunch! They live back in the woods. Mr. Turkey wasn't with them this trip, he usually struts around like he's hot stuff.

Beautiful week!

So nice out! In the 70's, humidity is lower, just wonderful. Low's in the 50's at night, I love sleeping with the windows open.

I finished a baby sized afghan to add to my stock, and have started another.

No sewing done, I've been reading a lot. I just finished book #84 for the year! Library and kindle, I haven't bought a physical fiction book in a long while.

Tomorrow I have my yearly checkup with the eye doctor. I just saw that there was a bill in Congress to have Medicare cover eyes, ears and dental. It went down by 4 votes. One guess which party voted it down, boo.

I've been watching the DNC every night, I so hope Kamala wins. I'm so tired of #45's whining and name calling. I'm ready for a grown up to follow Joe!

Haircuts!

Ralph started growing out his hair during the pandemic. Donated it. Grew it again. He was going to grow til next month, but decided he'd had enough. I also needed a trim, so off we went.

Hurricane Debby

We've been getting a lot of rain all week, which was not from Debby. Today we're getting wind then rain, from Debby. About once every ten years, a hurricane actually hits here, we usually just get rain.

My Crepe Myrtle out front is tall! I saw a hummingbird exploring it, and the deer love to eat the bottom flowers. Pic taken from my bathroom window.

My current baby afghan in progress. It's my "work on it when the TV is on" project.

August!

August and it's hot! Like heat advisory hot! It's supposed to get to the upper 90's today and tomorrow.

Ralph had breakfast with the Veterans, and now is at the movies with his brother and nephew. I had a few phone calls to make, and spend a good amount of time in the sewing room.

I took this apart, seems like I had a row upside down and it made for the two brown plaids next to each other, which I couldn't live with.

I like it a lot better now.

I added these two to the collection, and that used up the last of the Halloween charm squares. We have a family group chat, and I put the pix up, so my girls can claim which one they want. I have to decide if I'm backing them with autumn or Xmas fabric- I'll consult the girls.

I feel like July was pretty productive. I  haven't done my book count yet.
