Sunday

Starting a blog was my New Year's Resolution, and daughter Steph helped me set it up today. I love reading other people's blogs, and I hope mine will be somewhat interesting.

I've been quilting for 4 years. It was on my "Things to do before I die" list, and when daughter Heather was pregnant with Eddie, I decided the time was now. I heard about a quilt shop not far from here, called Quilted Treasures, so I went in and asked for a class for beginners. I thought I'd make a quilt or two, learn a couple of things- I never dreamed it would become an obsession!

The first quilt I made was a sampler, which hangs on my bedroom wall. I never did get around to naming it, even tho Libby, my quilt teacher, said naming quilts is very important. My second quilt was a reversible quilt, also in a class taught by Libby. That one went to my Mom. I can't convince her to use it to lay under- she has it over a chair.

I've had a terrible cold, and spent yesterday sleeping. This afternoon I started to feel better, so we went to the Olive Garden for dinner with Mom, Steph and her friend Jay. I haven't even gone into the quilting room (AKA Manda's room when she's home) this weekend- just felt too washed out to even look at fabric.

And that's my first blog entry!
