Yesterday Stockton University's Class of 2026 graduated!
Next stop- NCLEX, the exam he has to pass to put RN after his name. It's a whole process, and he's hoping to be able to take the boards in June.
We're so proud of him. BSN is the hardest program in any university, which the university prez confirmed in his speech. It's an endurance race, and is made harder than it has to be.
And I was happy to see that his class had a bunch of guys in it. For years, men in nursing was only about 10%. As the numbers rise, so will the salaries and benefits. It's not fair, but it's true.
For years, my dad referred to Ralph as a "male nurse" and I'd always correct him that Ralph's an ER nurse. Old attitudes are slow to change.
