Cloudy midweek

As long as it isn't snowing, I'm happy! Clouds are good!

It's the 4th Wednesday, so lunch with the teachers- finally! It got cancelled for various reasons for 3 months now, so we're looking forward to seeing old friends.

I've been getting in over 600 stitches a day, because I'm working on an area with large amounts of color, and little confetti. I'm 37% done!

Two more photos for inspiration! I love the color combo of the top one, and the design of the bottom one.

The sun came back

Yesterday it rained all day, teemed. The rain gauge said 6 inches! Yikes! Better rain than snow! And the wind howled last night!

Today it's sunny, with a blue sky.

Yesterday Ralph braved the rain and went to the local American Legion post for their breakfast fundraiser, and got takeout. We each got two servings from our breakfast.

Time to move the q snap! 35% done as of last night! That's 35% after 3 months of working on it almost every day, so I'm projecting 8-9 months total for it.

Another photo for inspiration, I love it. I go on Facebook every day, to see what my kids post, and to see recipes, quilt patterns, cross stitch patterns and gadgets, and crochet patterns. For some reason FB wants to show me sports teams and soap operas, even tho I mark to block every time. So much for their algorhythim!

Midweek

It's Wednesday again! Yesterday was the first day of spring, but it was chilly. We went to breakfast with Heather, which is always fun.

Not the best pic, taken by my nephew. Joseph's stone finally arrived, and it looks great. I still can't believe he's gone.

34% done!

Picture for inspiration for the color combo. It would look great as a turning 20!

Today the house cleaner is here, yay! Then we go to lunch with the nurses, for the first time this year. We used to be a big group, it's down to us, one retired nurse, and one nurse (who is in a nursing home) husband.

Sunny Weekend

We had a few days in the 70's, which was a tease. Back in the 50's next week.

Ralph loves candy Irish potatoes, so I made a batch. I enlisted him to roll them out. Later, he tossed them with the cinnamon also.

I put together a top for another zig zag table runner. I may just keep making tops for awhile, then assembling them all at once.

No big weekend plans here. Our usual lunch with Frank and Charlotte tomorrow is about the extent of the plans.

Wow, Wednesday again!

What a week. Last Friday was Big Ed's funeral, which was incredibly sad. He was active in the local Marines association, and they did a Marine part of the funeral. Then the Catholic funeral mass, which seemed to last weeks. That was all after the over an hour ride to the church, down near the shore.

To the Veterans Cemetery for more Marine tradition, including a gun salute and taps, which always does me in. The folding of the flag. Then more Catholic stuff.

Finally, off to the funeral luncheon, which was really good. Being jersey, it was at an Italian restaurant. Then the long ride home. It was almost 5 when we got home, and I took a nap. I'm glad it's over, but now the work starts for the family.

So today is Wednesday again, which means Work in Progress!

I took it off the q snap to move it down, to do the top section. I'm 30% done, yay! The time change left us jet lagged, so I didn't do a lot several days.

I really like this, so I ordered the pattern, which should come today.

A sad week

My daughter's father in law died Sunday. My son in law and his mom were with Ed when he died, and we're all so sad. He was a terrific guy, a good husband, father and grandfather. He always referred to his wife as "my bride" which I found cute and touching. He will be missed.

And he died on Julianna's birthday, which was hard on her. She did take her driver's test the next day, and passed, yay! The instructor said she parallel parked like she'd been doing it for years! She had been so nervous about that. I told her that once she passed the test, she never had to parallel park again.

We got our Real ID cards from the DMV, which was torture. Not the best organized process- we had appointments, and were there 2 hours! People were leaving because they had other places they had to be.

27% done! Without Pattern Keeper I'd never be able to do it, tons of confetti. I had to move to the smaller q snap to do the upper right corner, because I'm left handed.

How cool does this look! I saved the pattern, it's a free download from Art Gallery Fabrics.

It's a rainy week, but better than snow!

February Statistics

I didn't do much reading in February, too busy crafting! Only 5 books, 4 from the library. Seventeen so far this year.

14K stitches on the XS in February, and hit 25%!

Three table runners from charm packs, used scraps of batting and backing from my stash, so no money spent!

I just made appointments to get the real ID drivers licenses for us, it's very stressful to me to make appointments online. The DMV is having a mobile office near us this week, so we got appointments for Monday, and we can get my car inspected there also. Inspection is a joke, it's just pollution checking.
