So on the night of September 2, I had a prolonged episode of afib. I have a history of it, but this went on, so off to the ER we went at 3 a.m. on the September 3. They did cardiac enzymes, and what should have been about 10 was 900. I was admitted, and scheduled for a cardiac cath.
Cath, via my right wrist, showed 3 vessels 90% occluded. That meant a bypass surgery. I was transferred to Cooper, and it was Labor Day weekend.
September 9 was the big day. It's a brutal surgery, where they fluid overload you, and take the sapphenous vein from groin to ankle to use to replace the clogged veins.
3 days in ICU. Then to the cardiac floor for private rooms and nice decor.
My room.
My leg 2 weeks postop, before the drain was removed.
Around October 1, I was transferred to rehab.
More next time.
