Mid November!

Once Halloween is past, the year is basically over. The time goes so fast.

The memorial service for David was very well done. Heather spoke, Sharon spoke, Juliette spoke- they all sobbed thru speaking, and did very well. Frank spoke, and a few of David's friends spoke. I'm glad it's over, the delay between his death and the service was hard.

Works in progress updates! And I finally caught up with all the Chicago shows! That was a lot of episodes. Now I can start working on the shows on the DVR.

Rainy Friday

Totally a dreary day! Manda and Steph cancelled their trip here. They were coming for David's memorial service, which is tomorrow. But Dan wrenched his knee badly, and Steph didn't want to leave him for so long. And Manda is stressed by the number of unvaxxed in the family. Much as we would have loved to see them, we understand completely.

Library run and lunch at the Meadows Diner earlier this week!

My favorite Vietnam Vet had a free breakfast at the diner, a free lunch at Olive Garden, and got a voucher for a free dinner at Texas Roadhouse!

Starting a new page on the cross stitch, neutrals afghan is coming along, and snakes are up to date!

Hello November!

November is a month that school staff in jersey love! Teacher's convention, Veteran's Day, Election Day, and Thanksgiving!

Our oldest grandson is so grown up!

I made minestrone adjacent soup- Ralph is allergic to all beans, peas, and soy.

So, soup and rolls for dinner and another dinner!

Weekly craft status update!

We had our first frost, so the growing season is over, according to the weather service. And this week the time changes.

Waiting for the storm!

We're predicted to have wild weather this afternoon and evening- rain and wind.

Weekly updates! Neutral rectangular granny, and working on another page of the cross stitch.

Ali posted this memory of happier days. I miss him so much!

Picture for inspiration!

The time change is late this year, not til after Halloween. I'm not looking forward to the early sunsets and long nights.

Another week passing

Time goes by so quickly! I started out today by getting on the exercise bike for the first time in weeks. I did 2.5 miles in 20 minutes, while reading on the kindle app of my iPad mini. Ralph was at breakfast with the Veterans.

I don't know why it's sideways! It was time to move the Q snap. I'm not halfway there yet!

Snakes are up to date! A little over 2 months left til the end of the year.

We went to lunch at Lamp Post yesterday! Jersey shore salad for me, wedge salad for Ralph.

We did a library run the other day to pick up books I'd requested.

A stolen pic for inspiration! The quilter called it Strawberry Lemonade.

Time flies!

October is halfway gone! As the old saying goes, the days are long and the years are short.

Another page is moving along!

We had a cold front zip thru last night, dropping the temps by about 20 degrees! I have all the windows closed, and Ralph covered the air conditioner.

Our nephew David's funeral will be November 13. Manda, Steph and Dan are coming in for it. They are fully vaccinated. Ben will stay home with the kids, who are too young for the vaccine. Several members of the family on Ralph's side are refusing the vaccine, so the kids are better off not here.

It will be so nice to see Manda- it's been over 2 years! She's staying here, and Steph and Dan will use hotel points. They have a whole agenda for while they are here, starting with Balsalmo's pizza on arrival.

Ralph left here at the crack of dawn to go see Eddie race. Ed is feeling better by the day, but in no shape to race or set up. He'll be cheering Eddie on.

The house cleaners make their monthly visit tomorrow, yay!

October

Hello October!

Another terrific page in the calendar that Heather made for us!

We were out of meatballs, so we made a trip to the Amish market for meatloaf mix, and I made 4 pounds of meatballs and froze them. Ralph likes them for a quick snack or lunch. The recipe is the one his Nana Rose taught me, except I over bake them rather than deep frying them.

Another page done! This page had less areas of confetti, so it went faster.

I'm up to season 8 of Chicago Fire!

My new thing is nagging my children to make wills. Yeah, they should not have to be nagged, but hopefully it will work. Both Joseph and David died without wills, and it creates so much havoc. I even put up a PSA on Facebook about making a will. At least Joseph died in jersey, David lived in Virginia and it's causing all kinds of headaches for his family.
